Budapest, Hungary –The Uganda Embassy in Berlin, working closely with leading Ugandan tour operators Crystal Safaries, Africa Adventure Vacations, Africa Safaris, and African Rock Safaris—participated in HUNGEXPO 2026 held in Budapest from 19th to 22nd February 2026.
The joint presence demonstrated Uganda’s strategic commitment to deepening tourism partnerships within Central Europe and reinforcing bilateral relations between Uganda and Hungary through travel, trade, and cultural exchange. The exhibition provided a valuable platform for constructive engagement with tour operators, investors, destination marketers, and policy stakeholders from across the region.
Representing the Embassy, Mr. Agama Woling Anthony and Ms. Jessica Namuddu highlighted Uganda’s standing as one of Africa’s most diverse and compelling destinations. Widely recognised as the Pearl of Africa, Uganda presented a unique blend of attractions, including mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, savannah wildlife safaris, adventure experiences along the River Nile, and rich cultural heritage encounters across its communities.
The participating tour operators showcased curated travel packages aligned with the evolving European demand for sustainable, responsible, and experience-driven tourism. Particular emphasis was placed on conservation-led tourism models, community participation, and Uganda’s continued investment in hospitality infrastructure, connectivity, and visitor safety. Uganda’s engagement at HUNGEXPO 2026 also underscored broader economic diplomacy objectives. Discussions extended beyond leisure travel to include opportunities in eco-lodge development, aviation partnerships, hospitality investment, and skills exchange within the tourism value chain.
The exhibition enabled the Ugandan delegation to strengthen partnerships with Hungarian and regional travel agencies while positioning Uganda as an accessible and investment-ready destination in East Africa. It further served to highlight the country’s stable business climate and growing potential within the global tourism and conservation economy. Through this coordinated participation, Uganda reaffirmed its readiness to welcome visitors and investors alike, advancing tourism as a catalyst for sustainable development and strengthened international partnerships.
