Havana, Cuba – The Uganda Embassy in Havana concluded its participation in the 41st Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025), held from 24th to 29th November, at Expocuba, Rancho Boyeros. FIHAV remained Cuba’s leading multi-sectoral trade exhibition, bringing together public and private enterprises, diplomatic missions, and companies from more than 50 countries.
Uganda’s participation was driven by the Embassy’s commitment to promoting the country as a prime tourism and investment destination. The Uganda stand displayed a variety of agricultural products, traditional crafts, and promotional materials highlighting Uganda’s tourism attractions and investment incentives. Embassy officials held engagements with trade representatives, sector specialists, and potential business partners to explore market prospects for Ugandan exports and identify opportunities for collaboration in tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, and other priority sectors.
FIHAV 2025 took place amid continued economic challenges in Cuba, including the impact of the blockade. Nonetheless, the fair remained an important platform for international trade. Cuban exhibitors focused on key growth areas such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and tourism development.
Participating countries included Canada, China, Guyana, Indonesia, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, and Russia, underscoring FIHAV’s relevance as a regional hub for economic exchange. Uganda’s presence provided a strategic opportunity to enhance visibility, strengthen bilateral relations, and foster new commercial partnerships.
