Kampala, Uganda – The Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Hon. Francis Mwebesa has today signed a €1.7 million agreement with the Italian Government through UNIDO Uganda to support Uganda’s private sector by enhancing institutional capacity, strengthening selected value chains, and fostering international partnerships to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
The funds will support the implementation of a new project titled “Strengthening of the Private Sector through the Development of Institutional Capacities and the Building of International Partnerships in Uganda.” Through this initiative, capacity building will be prioritised to equip local businesses with the tools, skills, and collaborations they need to grow, compete, and contribute to national development.
The project will also support the establishment of the Confederation of Uganda Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a unified platform bringing together all industry associations and chambers under one coordinated voice.
