Kisozi, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received a special message from the President of the Republic of Angola, H.E. João Lourenço, during a meeting with Angola’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Téte António, at the President’s Kisozi Farm in Gomba District.
Minister Téte António led a high-level delegation to Uganda to deliver the message on behalf of President Lourenço, reaffirming the longstanding cordial relations and continued dialogue between the two African nations.The discussions focused on issues of mutual interest, including regional and continental cooperation, as well as Angola’s candidature of H.E. Josefa Sacko for the position of Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
President Museveni expressed Uganda’s support for Angola’s candidate, stressing the importance of African unity and coordinated engagement in advancing the continent’s representation and influence within multilateral institutions. He noted that strengthened collaboration among African states remains essential to promoting shared priorities and amplifying Africa’s voice in global decision-making.
The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between Uganda and Angola, built on mutual respect, solidarity, and a common commitment to regional integration, sustainable development, and Afr ica’s collective aspirations on the international stage.
