Uganda has successfully concluded its participation in the International Tourism Forum “Let’s Travel” held at VDNKh, Moscow, reaffirming its position as a leading destination for tourism, investment, and cultural exchange. Throughout the forum, Uganda showcased the country’s diverse tourism attractions, vibrant cultural heritage, and growing economic opportunities to an international audience comprising tourism stakeholders, business leaders, government officials, and visitors from across the world.
Over the course of the event, the Uganda Stand remained a focal point for visitors seeking to learn more about the Pearl of Africa. Through exhibitions, cultural showcases, business engagements, and tourism promotion activities, Uganda presented a compelling picture of its unique tourism experiences, hospitality, investment potential, and rich cultural traditions.
A significant achievement of Uganda’s participation was the series of business-to-business (B2B) engagements between Ugandan tour operators and their counterparts from the Russian Federation and other participating countries. These meetings provided valuable opportunities to establish partnerships, exchange market insights, and explore avenues for increasing tourist flows and cooperation within the tourism sector. The engagements are expected to contribute to stronger commercial links and enhanced destination promotion between Uganda and international markets.
On the sidelines of the forum, H.E. Ambassador Moses K. Kizige, Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Moscow, held meetings with Russian government officials and prospective investors. Discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration in tourism, trade, and investment, while highlighting Uganda’s strategic location, favorable investment climate, and commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with the Russian Federation. The forum also provided an effective platform for advancing Uganda’s economic and public diplomacy objectives. Through sustained engagement with stakeholders, Uganda reinforced its commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and promoting tourism as a driver of economic growth and international cooperation.
In recognition of its impactful participation, Uganda was honoured with the Third Prize – Winner of the Special Nomination “Let’s Travel!”. The award reflects the strong impression made by Uganda’s tourism showcase and acknowledges the collective efforts undertaken to promote the country’s attractions, culture, and investment opportunities on the international stage. The forum concluded with a vibrant celebration of Uganda’s cultural heritage. On the final day, members of the Ugandan delegation, tourism stakeholders, and representatives at the Uganda Stand proudly wore traditional cultural attire from various regions of the country, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into Uganda’s rich cultural diversity and traditions.
A fitting highlight of the closing ceremony was a performance by the Ndere Troupe on the forum’s main stage. Through music, dance, and artistic expression, the troupe captivated audiences and showcased the vibrancy, creativity, and unity that characterize Uganda’s cultural heritage. The performance served as a memorable conclusion to Uganda’s participation and further strengthened the country’s image as a destination distinguished by its cultural richness and warm hospitality.
