Kampala, Uganda – On October 16, 2025, Hon. Oryem Henry Okello, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs), met with H.E. Witjaksono Adji, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Kenya and concurrently accredited to Uganda, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Adji presented copies of his credentials and expressed Indonesia’s interest in deeper cooperation, particularly in mineral development, education, and agricultural research. Hon. Oryem welcomed the proposals, appreciated Indonesia’s scholarships for Ugandan students, and encouraged greater Asian investment and tourism.

Both sides emphasised the need to establish a Joint Public Commission to sustain long-term collaboration. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
