H.E. Lisa Chesney, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Uganda, warmly received her counterpart H.E. Nimisha Madhvani and the Westminster Africa Business Association (WABA) delegation, on 17 February 2026, marking the commencement of their official visit to Uganda. The High Commissioner provided the delegation with a comprehensive briefing in preparation for their engagements with senior Government officials scheduled later today.
The Westminster Africa Business Association, a UK-based organisation, plays a pivotal role in fostering trade, investment, and business partnerships between the United Kingdom and African nations. Through its high-level networks, WABA convenes business leaders, policymakers, diplomats, and investors, promoting strategic collaboration and sustainable economic development.
During the visit, discussions are expected to focus on expanding bilateral investment opportunities across Uganda’s priority sectors, including agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, financial services, and tourism. The delegation’s engagements underscore both nations’ commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy while facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships that generate growth, jobs, and innovation.
Uganda remains a key destination for investment in East Africa, offering a stable business environment, a skilled workforce, and diverse opportunities in sectors such as eco-tourism, cultural heritage, and hospitality. The collaboration with WABA provides a platform to showcase Uganda’s investment potential to UK investors, highlighting strategic opportunities in agro-industrialization, renewable energy, and digital innovation.
