Kampala, Uganda – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, met with Amb. Upender Singh Rawat, High Commissioner of India, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 14, 2026. The meeting focused on strengthening Uganda-India relations, with discussions centering on the forthcoming BRICS Summit and the 4th India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV) scheduled to be held in New Delhi. Hon. Odongo Jeje confirmed Uganda’s participation, emphasising the importance of these fora in advancing Uganda’s and Africa’s development agenda.

The Minister and the High Commissioner also explored areas of cooperation in education and cultural exchanges, tourism development, and ICT. Hon. Odongo expressed appreciation for the High Commissioner’s efforts in fostering tangible collaboration between Uganda and India. The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
